Sincera Supportive Care and Symptom Relief was established in 2008 at the request of community physicians who were seeking additional help for their seriously ill patients who were not on hospice.
A signature service of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Sincera has specialized expertise in managing pain and other symptoms associated with serious illness or the side effects of treatment.
The Sincera team helps patients with any serious illness including cancer, advanced heart, lung, liver or kidney disease, late-stage neurological disorders, dementia or debility due to old age. In addition to specialized pain management, Sincera’s medical team is also expert at controlling shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, sleep loss, constipation, anxiety or depression – symptoms which are among the most common concerns of those with serious illness. Especially helpful are in-depth conversations about disease progression, treatment options and personal goals of care.
In 2017, Sincera became the first community-based palliative care program in Ohio to be awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®. The certification demonstrates Sincera’s commitment to quality and safety of services for patients and their families.
Ongoing support from donors, who recognize the importance of this vital program, enables us to help seriously ill people in our community, regardless of their ability to pay.
